One careers platform from Year 7 to post-18 choices

Book a Demo

MyFutureChoice is careers guidance software that takes every student from Year 7 to post-18 choices. Students discover their interests and abilities, explore career pathways and research courses, so they make informed decisions about their future. Careers leaders get one careers platform to deliver, track and evidence a whole-school careers programme, covering careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG), with resources and training for every member of staff. We have been supporting schools and colleges since 1986.

One careers platform for every year group

Each programme fits a key decision point, and results carry forward so students build on what they have already learned about themselves.

Ages 11+

MyFirstChoices

An introduction to careers for younger students. An interest questionnaire links what they enjoy to subjects and career areas, so they see how GCSE options keep different career paths open. Lesson plans and worksheets are included.

Ages 14 to 16

MyCareerChoices

A 300-question interest questionnaire, about 30 to 40 minutes online, that matches students to career areas and shows the post-16 subject choices that lead to them: A Levels, T Levels, BTEC, the IB, Scottish Highers or apprenticeships.

Aptitude tests

MyAptitude

Eight timed psychometric tests of verbal, numerical, abstract and spatial reasoning and more. MyAptitude is registered with the British Psychological Society and compares each student with others of the same age, so students see their strengths and staff see their potential.

Ages 16 to 18

MyUniChoices

A 150-question assessment, about 30 minutes, that recommends courses from 48,800+ courses at 772 institutions in the UK, Ireland and overseas. Students compare courses, build a shortlist and plan UCAS applications and personal statements. MyFutureChoice is a UCAS partner.

Schools in Ireland use EirQuest and schools in Wales use CymruQuest, in Welsh or English.

MyHQ: the staff side of the platform

Built for careers leaders

MyHQ is the staff side of the platform: one place to run your careers provision and see where every learner is.

  • Track every student: see who has completed each programme, their top career areas and subject interests, by group.
  • Set tasks and deadlines: encourage independent careers research and check progress against the goals you set.
  • Evidence the Gatsby Benchmarks: reports and student records help schools evidence their careers provision, including learning from career and labour market information and addressing the needs of each pupil.
  • Prepare for guidance interviews: careers advisers see each student’s results before a one-to-one conversation, so time is spent on next steps.
  • Save staff time: students manage their own research, and our support team helps you set everything up.

What students get

  • A personal report, online and as a PDF, with their best-matched career areas and the subjects and qualifications each one needs.
  • WORKBRIEF, our careers directory of 500+ job profiles, covering what each job involves, routes in, earnings and the labour market outlook.
  • MyFutureJourney, a portal where they record research, assessments and work experience, ready for CVs, personal statements and interview preparation.
  • Action plans and reflection pages to discuss with their careers adviser and family before choosing their next steps.
  • Access to their programmes for life, on a phone, tablet or computer.

Evidence you can trust

Our questionnaires and tests are psychometric, developed with Chartered Occupational Psychologist Dr Charles Johnson and refined with schools since 1986. MyAptitude is registered with the British Psychological Society, with published reliability and validity evidence, and its results correlate with GCSE and A Level outcomes. MyFutureChoice is a member of the Career Development Institute.

Accessibility and additional support

Practical support for different student needs

Give students more control over how they take part. The programmes include practical support for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), additional support needs (ASN) or additional learning needs (ALN), alongside their school’s own guidance.

All programmes

Display settings students choose

Every MyFutureChoice programme offers customisable fonts, a high contrast mode, a colourblind option and an optional dyslexia font, so students can change how it looks to suit their needs and preferences.

MyAptitude

Optional 25% extra time

Students can add 25% extra time to each MyAptitude section, choosing it separately for the sections where they need it, not for the whole assessment.

MyCareerChoices and MyUniChoices

Stop, take a break, carry on

Students can stop at any point and return later with their progress saved, so they don’t need to finish in one sitting or start again after a break.

These are settings within the programmes. They are not a diagnosis, and choosing extra time in MyAptitude does not give a student extra time in school or public examinations.

Support and training

Every school gets staff training, technical manuals, a resource library of lesson plans, presentations and parent guides, and a support team on hand to help. Webinars cover each programme for new and experienced users.
